Perigrin "Pippin" Took is a cousin to Frodo Baggins, one of the main protagonists in the Lord of the Rings saga. He became a chance member of the Fellowship of the Ring following a brief jaunt through Famer Maggot's farm and near-fatal brushing with a Nazgul.
Pippin, like his kinsman Merry, enjoys spending his days feasting, smoking and drinking. He envisions himself doing all three things after a "hard day's work." But...the only thing is, he has never done a hard day's work. However, he also became one of the Fellowship of the Ring following encounters with a ranger and a team of black-hooded horsemen.
After his cousin Frodo left for the Grey Havens along with Gandalf, Elrond, Bilbo, Galadriel and Lord Celeborn, Pippin stayed behind in the Shire along with his kinsmen, Merry Brandybuck and Samwise Gamgee.
